Week 2 & 3

Tiles are removed from the edge of the roof to reveal timbers damaged by water



Hang on a minute these tiles don't match. Hand made clay club tiles have been replaced at some point by plain tiles



Both club tiles and ridge tiles are carefully removed and sorted the tiles that can be replaced are neatly stacked for later replacement



Each area is lined and new batterns placed to reattach tiles.
Tiles are stacked on the roof for replacement.
Many origonal wooden pegs are still sound after more than 140 years odf use.




A large amount of old wood and frost damaged tiles end up in the skip
